I am what I am
"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

Old Ghosts
Old ghosts, once thought vanquished,
are resurrected by a single night's actions
and wander through my soul again.
I've been searching for safety
almost my entire life,
but safety is an illusion.
Violence and fear visited me
and tore down the veil that covered
my eyes and my mind.
This morning I am wondering
if I am irretrievably broken by my past.
Where do I go from here?
are resurrected by a single night's actions
and wander through my soul again.
I've been searching for safety
almost my entire life,
but safety is an illusion.
Violence and fear visited me
and tore down the veil that covered
my eyes and my mind.
This morning I am wondering
if I am irretrievably broken by my past.
Where do I go from here?

Arrgh!
Keeping a blog is way harder than I thought it was going to be :(
A) I'm a perfectionist...every blog has to be *just* right. I've got something like 6 blogs that I'm working on at the moment...all of them still in draft mode.
B) I'm never anywhere near the computer when I get a brilliant idea or awesome thought.
C) My life is pretty boring :-)) Compared to how things have been at certain times in the past, boring is good...I'm happy with it. (Makes for lousy blog ideas though.)
I'm going to try harder to update this though, so for you one mysterious reader that stops by once in a while...don't give up hope!

What do the neighbors think now?
When my room-mate Lisa and I go to the grocery store, we usually laugh and have a good time while doing our shopping. One time a clerk at the Wal-mart in Wichita, KS actually told us that it was "really cool to have happy people in the store"...this was after I had asked him to call security "because this strange woman is following me" and then she (Lisa) said she was going to stuff me in the big freezer. Neither one of us could keep a straight face so he figured out pretty quick we were teasing ;-)
Today, I think I completely blew any chance I had of getting a date in this area (we live in a small farm town)...while heading towards the bakery aisle, I said "Do we need some sugar, suga?" Apparently I said it loud enough to turn quite a few heads. I'm sure it is all over the area now about those *funny* women that were at the store today. Needless to say, we were in the bakery aisle giggling like we were back in junior high.
When we got home, Lisa was carrying some bags to the house, while I was waiting at the car for her to bring the cart back. After she had gone into the fenced area (where nobody else could see her), I heard the cereal box fall and hit the ground so I yelled out "OMG! You're a cereal killer!!!!" Then I heard an odd noise across the street...turned around and standing in their yard, watching (and listening) to me was our neighbors who moved in about three weeks ago, whom we haven't met yet. Without saying a word, they grabbed their little girl, turned and went into their house.
Somehow, I don't believe an invitation to come over and visit will be coming from them in the immediate future...

Good-bye Captain Phil
Keep Me In Your HeartShadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile
If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile
When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile
There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sometimes when you're doing simple things
around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile
You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on
your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you
Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile
These wheels keep turning but they're running out
of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile

To Beginnings......

So...welcome to my little corner of cyberspace. Its pretty informal here...lots of overstuffed comfy chairs to sink into and plenty of quilts and afghans to wrap up in if you get cold (or just need a snuggle). There's tea on the stove and wood on the fire and at least a cat or two trying to get into your lap. My soap box is stored over in the corner and I'll try not to get it out too much (no promises though...I've been known to get on a roll once in a while). Comments and discussion are always welcome, no matter what point of view....no name calling or fighting below the belt though. Flamers and fanatics (of any flavor or brand)...you will be thoroughly mocked, then wrapped, packaged, and shipped to the land of dragons, where you would do well to remember that in a dragon's point of view, you are crunchy and good with ketchup. Everybody cool with that? Good, let's get going......
